Hi everyone! Today, we received a call from a customer.
He told us that although his house already has a multi-stage water filtration system, the water still has a bad smell, and when tested with chlorine reagent, the chlorine level was still very high!
He asked if we had a solution.
We recommended installing an outdoor activated carbon filter to remove chlorine and odors — a common upgrade in residential water filtration systems.
The original system already had two filtration stages:

Sand Filter – removes sediment, rust, and large particles
-
UF Membrane Filter – removes bacteria and suspended solids
We added a third stage between them: an activated carbon filter designed to remove chlorine, taste, and odor.
Due to limited space, we installed the 1044 carbon filter tank in the next room. To connect the pipes, we drilled two holes in the wall and ran the plumbing through.
Here’s how we filled the carbon filter:

Bottom layer: coarse sand to support backwashing and flow distribution

Top layer: premium 8×30 mesh coconut shell activated carbon for effective chlorine and odor removal

We filled about 80% of the tank, leaving some space for water circulation and efficient backwash
After finishing the pipe connections, we tested the system.
Of course, we checked for any leaks first. Then, we retested the water with the chlorine reagent — and the chlorine level was significantly reduced!
We also reminded the customer: during the first few days, a little residual chlorine smell might remain — this is normal. After flushing, the carbon filter will work better and better.
✅ Conclusion:
If your water still has a chlorine smell or weird taste even after using several filters,
you probably need a high-quality carbon filter!

他说他们家虽然已经安装了三层过滤系统，但出水还是有异味，用氯测试剂一测，哇！Chlorine氯含量还是很高！
客户问我们有没有解决方案？
我们建议他：在户外加装一层 活性炭过滤器，来去除余氯和异味，这也是我们在净水系统升级改造中常见的做法。
他们原本户外已有两层过滤：

第一道：沙桶过滤器（Sand Filter），用于拦截泥沙、大颗粒杂质
-
第二道：超滤膜（UF Membrane）过滤器，用于过滤细菌和悬浮物
我们这次安装的第三层是 活性炭除氯过滤器，我们把它加装在前两道之间，形成三层过滤。
由于空间限制，我们把 1044型号的活性炭过滤器 装在隔壁间。为了接管，我们在墙壁打了两个孔，再将管线引过去。
这台活性炭过滤器内部结构如下：

底部填粗砂，协助均匀配水与反冲洗
-
上层填高品质活性炭，我们使用的是 8×30 Mesh 规格的 椰壳活性炭，具有良好的吸附能力
-
加填量约为桶体的 80%，不建议填满，以方便水流通过与反冲洗效果更佳
接着我们开始施工，整理管线、接水，再进行试机。
试机后当然要检查有没有 漏水问题，接着我们再次使用氯测试剂测试，结果显示——氯明显减少了很多！
不过我们也特别提醒客户，新装的活性炭滤桶在使用前几天，可能还有点余氯味，这是正常现象。经过一段时间冲洗后，活性炭的效果就会越来越明显了。

如果你家也有装了几层过滤器，却还是有氯味、异味、水质问题，那很可能就缺了一道优质的活性炭过滤！
